Gianni Versace founded the label which now one of the leading international fashion houses Specializing in luxury clothing, accessories, fragrances, makeup and home furnishings, the Italian fashion house is a household name around the world.

In 1994, Versace rose to popularity after Elizabeth Hurley wore a now infamous black Versace dress. Her dress was voted as the first of the most iconic dress of all time. In 2000, Jennifer Lopez followed the trend with her “green Versace Dress”, worn at the 42nd Annual Grammy and securing her spot as wearing the fifth most iconic dress of all time.

Gianni Versace infused a rock and roll and haute couture element to his clothing. When Donatella took over, she added a feminine flair to the established fashion label.

Versace is without a doubt a family oriented fashion label. In 1997, Gianni was killed. His sister, Donatella, stepped in as creative director and his brother Santo, became CEO. Donatella’s daughter Allegra owns 50% of the company as granted in Gianni’s will.

Versace has more than 80 boutiques operating internationally. Versace caters to the elite and Hollywood. Stars like Madonna, Britney Spears, Beyonce, and Penelope Cruz all adore this Italian fashion house. The fashion label is known for its plunging necklines, bold prints, and structured designs guaranteed to make a statement. Versace has had a unique origin and continues to keep producing chic and edgy fashion.
