Fun Fact Friday: Which Designer Has a Ph.D in Political Science?

This designer was born in Italy, took over the family’s company in 1971 after her grandfather started the company, and graduated from the University of Milan with a Ph.D. in Political Science.  Who is she?

The designer’s name is Miuccia Prada! She is the granddaughter of Mario Prada, the creator of the company Prada. She took reign of Prada in 1979, and is responsible for making Prada what it is today.  In 1989, she started her own company, Miu Miu that was modeled after her wardrobe and made to be a less expensive option to Prada. Then, in 1993, Miuccia Prada was awarded the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America International Award.  Miuccia Prada is known for her understated, minimalist, classic, cool, and comfortable look. Prada currently has 250 stores in 65 countries.
