Fun Fashion Fact Friday: New Years Resolutions
Posted by Natali on Jan 2nd 2015
Happy New Year! Many people think of the new year as a time for change or a fresh start (one popular hashtag this week is #newyearnewme), which is why the tradition of new years resolution is so popular.
Did you know about 45% of Americans make resolutions for the new year, but only around 46% of those people keep their resolutions? The most popular resolutions have to do with self-improvement, weight loss or relationship-related goals. But the Vintage Fashionistas have more style-oriented resolutions in mind! Here’s what we’re planning to do in 2015:
Don’t shop for #Instagram.
When you’re buying a new purse or dress, are you buying it because you love it or because you want others to know you have the new it-bag? If you’re shopping habits are too linked to your social media mindset, maybe its time to add disconnecting when shopping for your new years resolutions.
Be wary of “one-season wonders”.
While its easy to get caught up in fun trends, make sure you’re not shelling out so much on fashion trends that don’t last long. Be sure to buy what you really love and not what is trending that season to stay happy with your wardrobe for longer.
Switch up the shopping bag.
Its easy to get into a style rut. We like to buy what we look good in and while everyone has their classic go-to look, its fun to switch up your look every so often. Don’t keep buying the same thing over and over again. Have fun with fashion and experiment with different pieces that may be equally flattering!
What are your New Years Resolutions? Cheers to a fashionable 2015 with Back in Style!
